Police announced that at least five people were killed in a gunfight with security forces outside the Central Bank of South Sudan in the capital, Juba. Police spokesman Daniel Justin denied reports of an attempted robbery at the bank, stating that the armed individuals stole money from a vehicle parked near the Ministry of Petroleum. He added, "Our forces chased the perpetrators and arrested them at the central bank. When they encountered our barrier, they decided to open fire, and our forces responded by killing five of them," clarifying that all of them were South Sudanese citizens.
