Agreement Signed for the Construction of a Railway Line between Iran and Russia

Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart Ibrahim Raisi witnessed, via video link, the signing of an agreement to finance and construct a railway line in Iran to facilitate regional trade. The railway line, which connects the cities of Rasht and Astara, is seen as an important link in the international transport corridor between the north and south, connecting India, Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, and other countries by rail and sea.
