The National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research (Helwan Observatory) announced that an earthquake with a magnitude of 5 on the Richter scale struck South Sinai Governorate in eastern Egypt during the early hours of Tuesday. The institute stated on its official Facebook page that its monitoring stations recorded the tremor 26 kilometers southwest of Taba in South Sinai. It clarified that the earthquake occurred at 2:11 AM local time on Tuesday. The statement noted, "The institute has received reports of the tremor being felt, but there have been no reports of any loss of life or property."
