French President Emmanuel Macron tweeted today, Monday, announcing that he has received an invitation from German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to visit Germany in July. Macron commented, "It is an honor for France," adding that "this confirms the relations of friendship and trust between us and between our peoples." It is worth noting that relations between the two neighboring countries have been tense lately.
