The Public Prosecutor, Judge Ghassan Aouidat, commented on the first round of investigations conducted by European judicial delegations regarding financial files associated with allegations of corruption and money laundering, stating, "Our evaluation of the first round of investigations is positive, and it can serve as a foundation for future cooperation that benefits the Lebanese file." He emphasized, in a statement to the "Asharq Al-Awsat" newspaper, that "the proceedings of the investigation respected the international treaty on combating corruption, and we have adhered to Lebanese law through our cooperation with the Europeans, our participation in the investigations, and managing the sessions in the presence of Lebanese judges, while preserving national sovereignty."
