A patrol from the Army Intelligence Office - Batroun Security Office thwarted a smuggling operation last night involving 31 Syrians, including men, women, and children, who were on board a boat off Selata Beach attempting to travel illegally. All were apprehended and referred to the relevant authorities for investigation, except for the boat driver who fled into the open sea.
Red Cross personnel also arrived at the scene as a precaution in case of any injuries, but all detainees were reported to be in normal health condition.
