Statement from General Security Regarding the Status Resolution of Syrian and Palestinian Refugees in Syria

The Lebanese General Security Directorate indicated that "Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Syria who are in violation of residency regulations in Lebanon can now rectify their situation at border offices and depart without being subject to entry bans upon their return, provided they pay all applicable fees." The statement noted that "those registered as displaced persons and holders of residency permits as displaced persons do not benefit from the aforementioned provision. This decision is effective until June 15, 2023."
