Sudan: Resumption of Talks Amid Humanitarian Concerns

Despite heavy weapon clashes in the Sudanese capital Khartoum on Tuesday between the army and Rapid Support Forces, negotiations that took place over the past two days with Saudi Arabia and the United States have resulted in the resumption of indirect talks. This time, the talks are focused on humanitarian arrangements and a ceasefire, according to Al-Hadath channel.

On the path to resolving the escalating crisis, the Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, received a phone call on Tuesday from Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud. According to a statement issued by the Sovereign Council's media, Burhan emphasized during the call the "need for the Rapid Support Forces to withdraw from hospitals, service centers, and citizens' homes and to open pathways for delivering humanitarian aid to ensure the success of the Jeddah platform."
