After the Disaster... A Lebanese Delegation Headed to Syria for Assistance

The Minister of Public Works in the caretaker government, Ali Hamieh, described the earthquake that occurred in Syria as a humanitarian disaster. He announced that "a Lebanese delegation consisting of the Red Cross, the Beirut Fire Brigade, Civil Defense, Disaster Management, and the army headed to Syria this morning to assist in the rescue operation of victims trapped under the rubble."

Regarding the ministry's work amid the stormy weather in Lebanon, he confirmed in a statement to "Voice of Lebanon" that "since the beginning of winter, it has been opening international roads to prevent flooding, as well as mountain roads by clearing snow, and it continues its mission." He noted that "the ministry's machinery has been working since early dawn to open the mountain roads."
