The Afghan newspaper "Hasht-e Subh" reported that "Kabul Airport came under rocket fire during the departure of Amir Khan Muttaqi, the foreign minister of the interim government formed by the Taliban, to Pakistan." It was noted that "at least three airport staff members and several passengers were injured as a result of the attack, though the minister himself was unharmed." The report indicated that "unknown attackers targeted the airport with three rockets, focusing the attack on the VIP lounge and passenger terminal."
The newspaper stated that "the incident occurred on Friday, after which the Taliban security apparatus prevented the recording of videos and photos to stop information from leaking to the media."
Additionally, the Afghan national television reported that "despite the incident, Minister Muttaqi traveled on and arrived in Islamabad, where he will meet with the foreign ministers of Pakistan and China to discuss trade and economic cooperation, as well as regional security collaboration."
