Kishida: We Will Do Everything Possible to Ensure Safety During the G7 Summit

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida stated on Sunday that Japan must do everything it can to ensure the safety of the high-profile foreign dignitaries set to gather for the G7 summit in the country. In a press statement, he emphasized that "Japan must not allow acts of violence that target the foundations of democracy." The Japanese leader was evacuated unharmed on Saturday after a suspect threw what appeared to be a smoke bomb while he was giving a speech outdoors in western Japan.
