Biden to Meet Congressional Leaders This Weekend to Discuss Debt Ceiling

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre indicated today, Friday, that President Joe Biden is expected to meet with Republican leader and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, along with other congressional leaders, early next week to resume budget negotiations and avoid an imminent government debt default. The leaders canceled a scheduled meeting today to allow their aides to continue discussions.
