The Lebanese National Defense Minister, Major General Michel Manceau, welcomed the new French Ambassador to Lebanon, Patrick Durel, during a courtesy visit at his office in Yarzeh. This visit marked Durel's assumption of his diplomatic duties in Lebanon.
Minister Manceau expressed his warm welcome to Ambassador Durel, wishing him success in his new role. He also extended gratitude to France for its continuous support to Lebanon and its military institution across various fields, highlighting France's active participation in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
The meeting further covered the arrangements following the conclusion of UNIFIL's mission by the end of this year. Additionally, discussions included the upcoming Lebanese Army Support Conference scheduled for September 17 in Paris, organized by the French Republic, and the potential that it holds for bolstering and enhancing the capabilities of the Lebanese military establishment.
