Arrest of Four Real Betis Fans After Violence

Four fans of the Spanish club Real Betis were arrested at Old Trafford yesterday, Thursday, due to their unruly behavior during the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 match against Manchester United.

During the match, fireworks and other objects were thrown towards the stands, injuring a police officer when someone from the visiting fans threw fireworks towards the United stands.

Greater Manchester Police are working closely with Manchester United, the UK Football Policing Unit, Real Betis, UEFA, and counterparts from the Spanish police to identify those involved in an ongoing investigation after the match.

Greater Manchester Police stated, "Four Real Betis fans have been arrested for violent disorder, assault, and possession of fireworks inside the stadium and possession of controlled substances."

Manchester Police added that two of the arrested Betis fans remain in custody for questioning.
