The number of fatalities from the collapse of a Hindu temple floor in India has risen to 35, as rescue operations continue. The victims fell into a well surrounded by stairs used in religious rituals when the temple floor collapsed under the weight of the attendees. The Interior Minister of Madhya Pradesh stated, "Police found 11 bodies in the well, while two individuals died from their injuries in the hospital," and added that an investigation into the incident has been initiated. Hindu temples in India were filled with worshippers on Thursday in celebration of the festival known as "Ram Navami."
