Russian news agency reported today, Monday, citing an analysis of data from the central bank, that "foreign investors who left Russia after selling their businesses there withdrew about $36 billion from the country." The Russian central bank had previously explained the significance of the departure of foreign companies, stating that "this period saw about 200 sales, with only 20% involving the sale of large assets exceeding $100 million." Dozens of the world's largest companies left or reduced their operations in Russia in response to Moscow's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
