The founder of the Russian private military company "Wagner," Yevgeny Prigozhin, supervised the evacuation of trapped civilians in the city of Bakhmut. Prigozhin's press service posted on Telegram: "A video shows several leaders and soldiers from Wagner groups, led by Yevgeny Prigozhin himself, checking on the safety of civilians in the area where they were and congratulating them on the occasion of Easter, while distributing sweets to the children present there."
Bakhmut is located north of the large city of Gorlovka and is considered an important logistics hub for supplying the Ukrainian forces in Donbas. Since last summer, fierce battles have been underway to control the city.
