The spokesman for the Eastern Military Command, Serhiy Chervaty, stated to Reuters on Friday that Ukraine is maintaining control of the situation in Bakhmut despite the difficult circumstances, emphasizing that it remains resilient in the face of the numerical superiority of Russian forces. He noted that "Moscow has achieved tactical success in some areas but is paying a heavy price for it." He added that "all decisions are made with the aim of preventing the enemy from breaching our defenses and inflicting as much damage as possible while preserving personnel."
