U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy indicated on Sunday that he expects the debt ceiling agreement he reached with the White House to receive majority support from Republican members in the House. In an interview with Fox News, McCarthy stated, "More than 95 percent of the Republicans in the House are very excited about the agreement that includes restrictions on federal spending."
