The Japan Meteorological Agency announced today, Sunday, that a strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.2 occurred at a depth of 140 kilometers in the Hokkaido region in northern Japan. The agency stated that "the epicenter of the earthquake is located off the coast of the town of Urakawa," and no warning for a tsunami was issued.
