The Minister of Interior and Municipalities in the caretaker government, Bassam Maulawi, indicated that "350 churches will be protected, with 519 officers deployed on the ground, 7,700 personnel, and 433 patrols spread out to maintain security and order on New Year's Eve." He stated: "I will stay vigilant to ensure safety and security, and the security plan extends beyond January 1, 2023."
Maulawi, during a press conference, called on citizens to "cooperate with the security forces in maintaining order and security, and be aware of the dangers of random gunfire." On another note, he emphasized that "serious investigations are ongoing regarding the gunfire incident targeting the 'Al-Jadeed' building, with information branch patrols stationed near the building," confirming that "we will reach the truth."
