The Anadolu Agency reported that women in the Turkish parliament recorded their highest representation rate in the history of the republic following the elections on May 14. According to data compiled from the unofficial results of the 28th parliamentary election, 121 women out of 600 deputies managed to enter the Turkish parliament, while the number of male deputies reached 479. The representation rate of women in the Turkish parliament increased from 17.1 percent in the 27th term to 20.1 percent in the current 28th term. A total of 50 women were elected to the parliament from the Justice and Development Party, 30 from both the Republican People's Party and the Green Left Party, 6 from the İYİ Party, 4 from the Nationalist Movement Party, and 1 from the Turkish Workers' Party.
