The Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced the "initiation of an investigation into the trade barriers regarding the trade restrictions in Taiwan on imports of Chinese agricultural products, metals, chemicals, and textiles." China expressed its strong dissatisfaction in early April regarding Japan's export restrictions on chip manufacturing equipment, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning.
