Russia Launches New Attack on Ukrainian Capital

Russia launched approximately 15 cruise missiles at the Ukrainian capital today, Tuesday, marking its second attack on Kyiv within a few days. However, all missiles were intercepted by air defense systems after warning sirens sounded across most of the country. Kyiv's military administration head, Serhiy Popko, stated, "On the front, the aggressor's plans have failed. They are trying to kill as many people as possible today," noting that "initial reports indicate there were no casualties in the attack," and he affirmed that "Kyiv has withstood again and will continue to withstand in the future." Today's attack follows Russia's largest drone assaults to date, part of an air campaign that began 10 days ago after a period of calm since early March. Additionally, this attack coincides with Russia's Victory Day celebrations, one of the country's most significant public occasions.
