A study published in the journal "Hypertension," by the American Heart Association, revealed that "obtaining protein from a variety of sources may help reduce the risk of high blood pressure, and proper nutrition in following a balanced and diverse diet can support cardiovascular health." Researchers analyzed dietary and health data from 12,200 adults in the United States and surveyed participants' daily diets over three consecutive days, at least twice over a long period. They found that blood pressure levels decreased by 40% among individuals consuming around 100 grams of protein per day or more, compared to those consuming lower amounts of protein. The source of the proteins consumed, whether plant-based or animal-based, did not affect this positive outcome.
