The Somali government has expelled two European Union officials on Thursday, accusing them of illegally taking photos of prisoners in one of the detention centers. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a brief announcement broadcast by Somali state television that the decision was made after receiving a request from the Somali Attorney General, Suleiman Mohamed Mahmoud, to remove the officials from the country. The Somali Foreign Ministry identified them as Jacek Joseph Oszman from Poland and Ralph Bernhard Gielig from Germany, accusing them of "violating the laws and regulations of the country" and meddling in Somalia's internal affairs. The Somali government requested that the European Union remove the two officials from Somalia within 72 hours.
