The distinguished Jaafari Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Qabalan delivered a speech in the town of Mays Al-Jabal during a memorial ceremony, stating that Lebanon is politically empty, and some leaderships are reckless, arrogant, and mad. Some political classes behave as if they are enemies of Lebanon, and the vacancy only adds to the destruction of the country. He emphasized that we must avoid falling into a worse situation, noting that hidden cards are strong. The Iranian-Saudi agreement is a pressing necessity, and any major deal between Tehran and Riyadh will assist Lebanon and the region, which we heavily rely on.
He demanded that the government be Lebanese, not American, and that the orientation toward the East is the greatest strategic need for Lebanon. He expressed exhaustion with the current government, stating that the presidential settlement is on its way to us, and the Parliament is the path to salvation and national interests. He called for an end to the attacks on Parliament and for some to condemn reckless and obstructive leaderships that believe Lebanon should conform to their designs. He reminded everyone that Parliament is a guarantee for Lebanon and protector of legitimacy, and it does not play games nor is it required to leap into the unknown, as the unknown leads to the loss of Lebanon.
