Canada: Two Dead and Power Outages Affecting Over a Million People

Two people have died, and power has been cut off to over a million individuals in Canada after a snowstorm hit the provinces, bringing freezing rain and strong winds that toppled trees and disrupted power supply lines ahead of the Easter holiday. Power outages affected over a million people in Quebec and about 110,000 in Ontario. Repairs are expected to take several days.

In this context, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau offered to provide federal assistance if necessary.
