FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated that "Vinicius Junior, the Real Madrid forward, will lead a special FIFA committee composed of players that will propose stronger penalties to combat discriminatory behavior in sports." Infantino added following a meeting with Vinicius and the Brazilian national team that "There should be no more football amidst racism, and matches must be stopped immediately when it occurs."
