Mexican authorities announced that 27 people died after a bus carrying them plunged into a ravine in the state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico on Wednesday. State Interior Minister Jesus Romero reported in a press conference that the accident resulted in 13 male fatalities, the same number of female fatalities, along with an infant. He added that 21 others were injured, 12 of whom are in critical condition. The bus was en route from Mexico City to the town of Yosondua in western Oaxaca when the driver apparently lost control, resulting in the bus falling into the ravine located in the town of Magdalena Peñasco around 6:30 AM local time.
