Ukraine Sets Date for Ending the War

Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Volodymyr Havrylov announced that his country's forces could reach the Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula by Christmas (December 25) and end the war by spring. The retired general stated that it is possible for Ukrainian forces to intervene in Crimea by the end of the year. Additionally, he did not rule out the possibility of what is known as the "black swan" theory occurring within Russia, referring to unexpected and unpredictable events in the coming months, possibly indicating an unforeseen political development that could affect the Kremlin. However, he believed that even without such an event, the timeline for reaching Crimea is "possible."
