Tunisian President Dismisses Bouden and Appoints New Prime Minister

Tunisian President Kais Saied has ended the duties of Prime Minister Najla Bouden Ramadan and appointed Ahmad Hachani as her successor. Saied tasked Professor Najla Bouden in 2021 with forming the government under presidential decree 117, which granted him exclusive powers and made the government accountable to the president, who appoints its members and holds them accountable alone. Ahmad Hachani is known as a Tunisian politician and economist, having held several positions in the central administration for legal affairs at the Central Bank of Tunisia, and was appointed Prime Minister in 2003. He also holds a master's degree in public law and economics.
