The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund completed its first review of a $15.6 billion loan program for Ukraine on Thursday, allowing Kyiv to immediately withdraw $890 million to support its budget as it launches a significant counter-offensive against the Russian invasion. The council's approval raises the total amount Ukraine has withdrawn under the program, which was launched on March 31, to about $3.6 billion to date. The IMF stated that Ukrainian authorities have made "strong progress" towards meeting reform commitments under "difficult circumstances."
