According to the Financial Times on Wednesday, Uber Technologies has made it possible to book both international and domestic flights via its app in the United Kingdom. The report noted that the company, which already offers train and bus ticket bookings in the UK, has started rolling out this new service to its customers and plans to expand in the coming weeks.
Additionally, it mentioned that Uber has partnered with Hopper for travel bookings and the sale of flight tickets, receiving a small commission on each sale. Andrew Brem, Uber's General Manager in the UK, indicated that this move is "the latest and most ambitious step" in the company’s strategy to enhance its core ride-booking business.
