Tension and caution have returned to Ain al-Hilweh camp in Sidon, amid the mobilization of armed groups, especially in the Baraksat and Safsaf neighborhoods. This unrest follows the failure to hand over the individual accused of killing Mahmoud Zbeidat, a member of the Fatah Movement, to the Lebanese Army Intelligence, despite an agreement reached between Palestinian factions and representatives of Islamic forces in the camp. Reports indicate that the road in the upper street of Ain al-Hilweh camp has been blocked with burning tires. It is noteworthy that the Fatah Movement held the funeral yesterday for one of its members, Mahmoud Zbeidat, who was killed in the recent clashes between Fatah fighters in the Baraksat neighborhood and armed Islamic elements in the Safsaf neighborhood within the camp.
