What the League seeks is to oblige the parties to ceasefire. Abu Gheit stressed that the League has "chosen a position of neutrality based on the fact that each party has its position," and the League is not seeking sanctions but rather looking for a solution and negotiations between the two parties, and it should be considered that what has happened is a rebellion against the Sudanese army.
