UN Envoy: Talks Among Stakeholders in Yemen are Encouraging

United Nations envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg said today, Tuesday, that "the depth and seriousness of talks among the parties involved in Yemen, including the visit of Saudi and Omani delegations to Sanaa, is encouraging." He affirmed that he "is working with all concerned parties to ensure that these efforts support the United Nations' mediation." Saudi and Omani envoys are holding peace talks with Houthi officials in Sanaa this week, as Riyadh seeks a permanent ceasefire to end its military involvement in the long-standing war in the country. The United Nations is not directly participating in the negotiations in Sanaa.
