U.S. Official: Parties in Sudan Conflict Not Seizing Jeddah Talks

A senior official at the U.S. State Department stated today, Tuesday, that the parties in the conflict in Sudan are not taking advantage of the opportunity presented by the Jeddah talks facilitated by the United States and Saudi Arabia. The official noted that the Jeddah talks, aimed at making strides towards a permanent cessation of hostilities, are not achieving success given what was initially agreed upon with the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
