Chinese authorities have ordered an investigation after a fire claimed the lives of 29 people in a hospital in Beijing, marking one of the worst incidents in the capital's hospitals in years. However, many posts related to the event have been deleted from social media. Social media footage showed dramatic scenes of individuals using tied bed sheets to climb down walls in an escape from smoke and flames after the fire broke out at 1 PM (0500 GMT) yesterday in Changfeng Hospital.
During the rescue operation, 71 people were evacuated. Local reports indicated that the fire was extinguished within half an hour, and an investigation is underway regarding the incident.
