Pope Francis in an Image That Deceived the World

After the huge popularity of the image of Pope Francis wearing a fluffy white coat, the creator of the image, Pablo Xavier, explained that he wanted to create a funny and amusing picture and did not expect it to garner such attention and buzz. The 31-year-old from Chicago said, "After I posted the image on Reddit, I was banned from the site after a few hours." He added, "I try to find ways to create something funny because that is what I usually aim to do. It just occurred to me: I should create a picture of the Pope wearing a fluffy coat walking the streets of Rome or Paris and things like that." Xavier had started using the "Midjourney" program for the first time after the death of one of his brothers last November. He said, "Everything started almost as an attempt to cope with sadness, and since then, I've loved this technique." He concluded, "I expected to get a strong negative reaction, but I did not think it would be this extensive."
