South African President Cyril Ramaphosa announced today, Tuesday, that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky have agreed to receive a mission of African leaders to discuss a potential peace plan to resolve the conflict. Ramaphosa stated, "My discussions with the leaders showed their willingness to welcome the African leaders and engage in discussions on ways to end this conflict." He added, "The chances of success will depend on the discussions that take place," noting that "the peace plan is also supported by leaders from Senegal, Uganda, and Egypt, and that the Secretary-General of the United Nations as well as the United States and Britain are aware of the initiative."
