Leeds United Condemns Abuse Faced by Bamford After Missed Penalty

Leeds United stated that it is unacceptable for their striker Patrick Bamford to face abuse on social media after he missed a penalty during the 2-2 draw with Newcastle United in the Premier League last Saturday. Leeds said: "Patrick Bamford and his family have been subjected to unacceptable online abuse, including threats on Twitter. It is time for this behavior to stop." Bamford missed a penalty saved by goalkeeper Nick Pope in the first half after Newcastle's Joelinton committed a foul against Junior Firpo.
