Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the 32nd session of the Arab League Council at the summit level, which will be held tomorrow, Friday. He was welcomed by the Deputy Emir of Makkah Region, Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Governor of Jeddah, Saleh bin Ali Al-Turki, the head of the honor mission, Minister Plenipotentiary Salman bin Haza'a Al-Mutairi, and the Director of Makkah Police, Major General Saleh Awad Al-Jabri.
With his arrival, a new phase in Arab-Arab relations begins since the start of the crisis in 2011. President Assad received an invitation from Saudi Arabia to participate in the summit on May 10 of this year.
