The Times reported that "Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani has submitted a final improved offer today, Tuesday, to purchase 'Manchester United,' a competitor in the English Premier League." The American Glazer family, the owners of United, has begun the process of selling the club. They have received several offers, including from British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, founder of chemical company INEOS, and Finnish businessman Thomas Zilliacus. Sources told Reuters earlier that "any sale of 'United' will likely exceed the largest sports deal to date, which was for $5.2 billion including debts and investments paid to purchase Chelsea Football Club."
