Allardyce Leaves Leeds United After Relegation

Leeds United announced today, Friday, their amicable separation from coach Sam Allardyce following the club's relegation from the English Premier League. Leeds stated that "the announcement of the replacement for the former England manager will be made in the coming weeks."

In a statement on the club's website, Allardyce said: "It has been a privilege to manage Leeds United, a great club with fantastic supporters that deserves to be in the Premier League." He added: "At this stage of my career, I am not sure I can take on this challenge, which could potentially be a long-term project that I can commit to."

Allardyce wished the club all the best for the future and hoped they would return to the Premier League where they belong. The 68-year-old took charge of Leeds in May for a rescue mission with only four matches remaining in the competition. However, Leeds finished second to last, five points adrift of safety and six points above bottom-placed Southampton.
