On Thursday, Youth and Sports Minister Dr. George Klass and his Iraqi counterpart Ahmed Mohammed Al-Mubarak met with Prime Minister Najib Mikati at the governmental palace and with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain al-Tineh. The Iraqi minister was accompanied by the Chargé d'Affaires of Iraq in Lebanon, Amin Al-Nasrawi, the minister's office director Safa Aliwi, and the embassy's protocol director Dr. Medin Kulash. Minister Klass was accompanied by the head of the public relations and media department, Hassan Sharara, and the minister's office director, Hussein Omar.
The two ministers met with Prime Minister Najib Mikati, where they discussed the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Iraq in the fields of youth and sports. Minister Al-Mubarak affirmed that Iraq would support Lebanon in hosting the Capital of Arab Youth in every possible way and would participate actively in various activities. The ministers then moved to Ain al-Tineh to meet with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, where they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Lebanon and Iraq in various fields, particularly in youth and sports, and Iraq's support for Lebanon as the Capital of Arab Youth.
