Drone Crash in Southern Russia

Local Russian media reported "the crash of a drone on a building in Krasnodar, southern Russia." Authorities in the Krasnodar region also announced that an explosion was heard in the Morskaya area of Krasnodar, damaging a residential building, but with no injuries reported. Krasnodar's Mayor Yevgeny Nomov stated, "An administrative building and a residential building were damaged, and the cause of the incident is being determined. I urge residents to remain calm." Social media reported that "the explosion was caused by Russian air defenses responding to an attack by several Ukrainian drones, one of which fell on a residential building."

On another note, the Russian Ministry of Defense indicated last night that "radars detected two unidentified targets approaching the Russian border, prompting the Russian military to launch 'Su-27' and 'Su-35S' fighter jets to prevent a violation of Russian state borders." The statement clarified that "the Russian aircraft patrolled over the Baltic Sea, during which it was established that the targets were two American B-1B strategic bombers." The ministry added: "The Russian aircraft returned to their bases after the American planes departed," confirming that "the Russian fighters conducted their sorties in strict accordance with international airspace rules."
