Red Bull driver Max Verstappen achieved the fastest time in free practice on Friday at his team's home ground during the Austrian Grand Prix of the Formula 1 World Championship. The championship leader recorded a time of 1 minute and 05.742 seconds on his final lap during the session at the Spielberg circuit. Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz took second place, while Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, finished in fourth. Canadian driver Lance Stroll of Aston Martin ranked sixth.
