Gibran After a Century... in New York

Joseph Jaaj, the director of the "Gibran Museum," announced on the "Happy Day" program on Lebanon Radio that a special art exhibition featuring the works of artist Gibran Khalil Gibran will be held at the United Nations building in New York to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the publication of "The Prophet," titled "Gibran Returns to New York After 100 Years." He confirmed that, in collaboration with Balamand University in Lebanon and the Lebanese Mission to the United Nations in New York, a collection of paintings, art pieces, notebooks, as well as some manuscripts and documents from the Gibran Museum would be transported to be displayed at the UN. Jaaj stated, "The selection of the paintings was made within a timeframe that coincides with the significance of the event, after an agreement was reached with the best companies for the packing and transportation of the materials to and from the Gibran Museum, under an insurance policy that includes comprehensive coverage for all risks, and a special specification document for the art pieces, including a 'technical passport' for each painting and item during their long journey." He pointed out that "the exhibition will open its doors on April 25 as part of a major operation and will continue until the 28th, with all artworks to be returned to the Gibran Museum in Bsharri after the exhibition concludes."
