A new study has found that individuals with high blood pressure experience a faster decline in their ability to think, make decisions, and remember information compared to those with normal blood pressure levels. Researchers tracked the relationship between high blood pressure and cognitive function deterioration over several years, analyzing data from six large studies. They observed a 50% increase in cognitive decline related to blood pressure. The study was conducted at the University of Michigan and published on "Science Daily." It stated that high blood pressure leads to faster cognitive deterioration, and that taking antihypertensive medication slows the pace of this decline. The six studies included data from over 25,000 individuals, with an average follow-up period of 8 years.
